Ambulance Members Develop Blueprint for FutureAfter 12 months of membership consultation HACSU ambulance members have developed a blueprint to address staffing and safety issues into the future. This is the first time ambulance members have put together a comprehensive way forward on these matters. The submission has now been forwarded to the State Government. This follows many years of HACSU members being frustrated at the lack of vision within the Tasmanian Ambulance Service around community and staffing needs. The four year plan addresses urgent crewing needs predominantly across the North and the South of the State, and also looks at Air Ambulance Services and Communications Centre staffing. HACSU Assistant State Secretary, Tim Jacobson, said the blueprint had been a big job but was well worth it. "This has been an enormous task for the Ambulance Executive and provides a platform for union members to pursue critical staffing problems," Tim said. "HACSU urges the Government to seriously consider the plan and take action to address the issues contained within the paper." The paper titled 'Ambulance Service - Safer Staffing - A Safer Tasmania' can be accessed here.
