Stop Press - HACSU Health Professionals Close to Landmark Deal

HACSU and CPSU Health Professional members are close to finalising a landmark deal that will address critical attraction and retention problems in Tasmania.

The "In Principle" agreement provides for new salaries and career structures, which will make Tasmania more attractive for Health Professionals who have not previously considered a career in Tasmania.

Unfortunately, reaching agreement with the Government was not easy. Health Professional members had resorted to Industrial Action on a number of occasions to get the government to listen to their legitimate concerns.

The campaign has been held up nationally as an example of a hugely successful joint union campaign.

Papers on the campaign have been presented to an ACTU Conference and Union Conference in South Australia.
