Welcome Kylie James

HACSU would like to welcome Kylie James as a new industrial organiser for the Northern Office. Kylie comes from the Scottsdale North East Soldiers Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a multi-skilled domestic.

Kylie, who has been a delegate for over three years, says she was motivated to apply for the job because she believes in standing up for "...what is fair and right".

Kylie says her time as a delegate has been very valuable.

"I learnt that we do have rights," Kylie said.

"At Scottsdale I was a casual for 10 years. I went through times when people felt like they had no rights. There was a culture of 'Be a good girl and you'll get some hours.'"

Eventually, after some negotiation, Kylie gained her permanency at Scottsdale.

Kylie says she wants to be there for members and do the best she can to help them out.

Good luck Kylie.
